A Quick Question to all my Stitching Friends....

Just a quick question to all my lovely stitching readers. As you know, I live in the UK and I used to order some of my stitching stash from a couple of places in the US which have now stopped business. I am looking for some online shops in the US that are good to deal with, have a good range of charts, fabric and threads and have a good shipping rate to the UK. Some people are lucky enough to have good, local shops but unfortunately, I am not one of them. If anyone can recommend one please let me know.

Thank you!

P.S. I have been out of the Stash loop for a while, hence why I am asking ;)

Hello and Happy New Year,

I find equilter is good to deal with and their shipping rates are good. Fat Quarter Shop is also good but their shipping rated are something I am not sure about. Those are my 2 favorites.

I use 123Stitch and Nordic Needle. I also don't have a LNS close by. I live in the USA though and not sure about their overseas shipping rates.
May you and your family have a great New Year!

I love Down Sunshine Lane and Amy is wonderful to deal with. Anything she doesn't have in stock she can order for you.

I have found that often the cost of postage and potential customs means that shopping in the US isn't as cost effective as it used to be. I tend to use Sewandso.co.uk and The Patchwork Rabbit these days.

Crazy Annie's is great. She tries to keep her postage low for everyone. Just search google her store. 123 stitch is great too.

I use and love 123stitch.com and I know they ship overseas :)

I'm not sure about international shipping policies but my two go to shops are The Inspired Needle in the Chicago area (Cathy is the shop owner) and Needlecraft Corner in the Baltimore area (Drema is the owner). Both do business by phone and email and I have had great experiences with them.

I live in the UK too and used to order from Stitching Bits and Bobs but their postage is now quite high and I've been caught for duty a couple of times so I now use Patchwork Rabbit for charts and threads and Willow Fabrics for evenweave and linen. Fobbles is also good and they will probably order for you if they don't have it stock.

I use a UK based site Cross stitch heaven, her prices are good and she is quick to send, any items out of stock is clearly marked.

I really like Needlecraft Corner. I don't know what the shipping is but to the US it is really reasonable.

The only thing I know about international shipping rates is they can be expensive. Needlecraft Corner is one site I frequently use.

Just back in blogland and catching up on a year! Hope you had a lovely Christmas x

I'm a Needlecraft Corner person too. But 123 Stitch can be speedy as well, and Inspired Needle is a lovely shop too. Good luck! (Needlecraft Corner always has a sale going on, a plus in my book.)

Hi Hazel

Living in New Zealand the shipping rate is very important to me when buying stash.

I have found Crazy Annie's, Anita's Little Stitches and Beach Cottage Stitchers charge actual postage. They all have a great range, great prices and are happy to give you an estimate on the postage if you email to ask. The stash always arrives pretty quickly too.

Hope this helps!

I live in Germany and used to order from Needlecraft Corner but then I had to stop because my customs office here made it so complicated to receive my orders from overseas. Now I order nearly everything from Casa Cenina in Italy. They have great prices but the shipping is not cheap (as always). But they only charge shipping costs for orders under 35€. So I have a wishlist there and when they offer a sale and I think I need something I place an order. But when I need one or two single skeins of thread I am lost :(

I always order from 123stitch but the recent increase in shipping charges mean a lot less ordering. I have always been impressed with the service though. Happy New Year!

Down Sunshine Lane is good though I don't know about shipping rates. www.downsunshinelane.com

I've ordered without problem from 123stitch before, but I'm lucky enough to be domestic.

I use Sewandso.co.uk for threads and linen. Very fast shipping and only £1 for a small envelope of threads. Otherwise I use Needlecraft corner or Needle in a Haystack in the US. Fobbles in Cumbria have a lot of US charts.

You may also want to contact Lois at The Elegant Stitch. She has a lovely shop in Modesto, California and ships worldwide as well.

Happy New Year!

Just adding another vote for 123stitch.com. They always have excellent customer service, which is what brings me back again and again. They even did a special order for me, and it was one of the easiest orders I have ever done.

A bit late :0) but like Sandra I am in the UK and also use The Patchwork Rabbit online shop for charts threads and linen they don't always have the linen in stock I want lol but hey ho! They are lovely to deal with and ship quickly and for reasonable costs. Shipping costs overseas now is just sooo expensive! Ali x
