And the winner is....

dsc03953

As hand picked by my daughter!! Well done Carla. You have won my Needlebook. I don't think I have your snail mail address so please email me it and I'll get it sent off to you as soon as.

So I have had a very hectic couple of weeks and not been on blogland at all!! Last week my dd was in a dance production which lasted all week into the wee hours of the night. We were shattered, she was not. She had a wonderful time dressing up in her costumes and wearing make up and having her hair sprayed with a serious amount of hairspray. She adores being up on stage and being the centre of attention. I wish I had her confidence.

So that was last week and this week has been emotionally hectic. I have a lot going on with my emotions right now and am having to go "see" someone about it. Nothing too serious and I will get fixed but it's been a hard week.

The great thing is that we are now able to start to settle Elijah into an evening routine. It's at the stage where he is crying when we put him down but after about 5 to 10 mins he settles himself. This means I will be able to pick up my needle and thread again! Yippee. I already have made a start. I have begun a pif and Stephanie if you're reading, here's a sneaky peak. Like I said it might take me a while to do.

And speaking of stitching, I am still undecided on threads for the Spanish Mystery that Periphaeria is doing. I came up with this combo of pastels which I thought would look nice on the Cashel Couture linen in Lemon. The Cashel comes ready hemmed and would look good as a table piece I think.

I am still a little nervous about starting an sal when I have so little time on my hands and also when I have never seen it before. The parts are once every two months so I have time to decide when I have seen the first part.

So here is a little pic of Elijah as he is two calendar months old today.
Elijah at 2 months old
Have a good week.

Ooh, the PIF peek looks pretty!

Do you have to keep up with the SAL? I started the Long Dog Mystery Sampler in January 2007, which came out in four monthly parts - and I'm still stitching! LOL. I'll finish it one day. :-)

Good for you going to see someone, it's better that way than suffering in silence. Hope they are able to help.

Elijah is such a sweetheart!
I'm glad you're getting help for your post-baby emotions. Just admitting that it's a problem is a great first step. Hugs and best wishes as you recover.

What a cutie, he looks so peaceful. Glad he is settling down in the evenings easier, being able to stitch will be such a nice treat. Hope you're feeling better and back to normal soon.

Ohhh Elijah is getting so big!

Elijah is sure growing. Nice to get him into an evening routine. Yeah, for more stitching time.

SALs can be lots of fun. I would not worry about getting it done in the alloted time between pieces. You can stitch on it when you have time and will have all the pieces when you have time to finish even if it is after the SAL is over.

I am of course reading :) Thanks for the sneak peak, I'm intrigued now!

Sorry to hear you haven't been well, but glad to hear you are doing something positive to get better - all my best wishes to you!!

I haven't decided about the Periphaeria SAL yet either - I am inclined to agree with Rowyn - collect the charts and stitch it in my own time!

I would love to do a SAL as well....but can't see me having the time to commit to this at the moment...in the meantime, I am trying to do the stuff I have waiting to be finished!!! (that's a long list!)

OK, I just want to preface this by saying that I am an expert on babies and I definitely KNOW a beautiful baby when I see one - and Elijah is a beautiful baby!

Also, always good to talk to someone, helps fix problems a lot quicker!
Glad to see you here!

What a darling little boy! You and your DH should be so proud! He is so sweet sleeping in that photo. I loved your daughter's little outfit matching her guitar too :-) . Does she actually play that? It seems a lot for a little gal her size, but hey, the younger you start with music the better off you are. I know, I started to play piano a few years ago, I'm going on 56 next month, and well, it is much easier to do this kind of thing when you are young and your mind is much more alert and your flexibility and young bones and such, reflexes are so much better then than at my age.

I am amazed at the things you are stitching with a newborn in tow. That is very unusual, you certainly have a good little boy there who sleeps mostly all the night. Good training Hazel! And probably Dad too ,huh?

Loved your Patchwork piece, and I am also starting the Hungarian sampler -- the Spanish Sampler -- I am stitching on the Salexandra piece, which uses the Sajou patterns for a tri fold pocket thingy (ha!). I also have started the "Many Years Sampler" and I will send you all my links. I just saw the Rose sampler by the EMS designs -- that is a pretty one. I have another Rose sampler free site for you and one that has a little stitching booklet that is like the Judy O'dell style but it is this woman's own design, and it's free. I will send alogn all the details in an e-mail as it is much too much to include here. I have gone long on this one....

we will have to chat and catch up, I have some not so good and great news, all connected to each other. I have to thank the Lord for something very special, and will share more with you in E-mail!

Love and blessings...Have missed you my dear! Kiss those lovely children for me!!
