My stitching daughter

I bought a small cross stitch kit for my daughter who is four. The kits are aimed at children four and above and is worked on 6 count using wool with the design printed on the fabric. They include everything you need, even the red hoop/frame. I bought it from Daisy Designs from their Early Fun range. I only phoned for it on Tuesday afternoon so its not bad service to get it here today. Here she is. Can't you just feel the concentration? She is not doing too badly with it although my patience is being tested!!

She's adorable, and she certainly is concentrating. I hope she has a lot of fun and wants to do another. I've tried for years to get my daughter interested, but so far no luck. However, she really does enjoy looking at it and appreciates the time it takes. She has added quite a few patterns she wants me to do for her to my list of projects, which was already way to long. She also has a habit of sneaking off with various of my finishes that she really likes.

Hi Hazel~ Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment! I love the pics of your daughter with her first cross stitch kit! You are starting her off young!! I love it! Sadly, I tried to get my daughters interested but they only did it to appease me. May be one day yet....;-)

Wow, she is doing well and it is good that kids have hobby.
Just Nan has a few freebies on their website, but there are a few old ones that are perfect for biscornu or pinkeeps, just email me with your email address and I will find you some.... ann62texas@yahoo.com.

It's nice to see that she's been bitten by the stitchy bug!! Is she really good at keeping the wool in the needle? Bec used to hold onto the needle and let the wool pull through the eye until it had come out completely - very testing times indeed!

Awww she looks so cute Hazel!

My 12 year old has decided she's going to sit and stitch with me tonight. Yeah right! LOL! It must be nearly a year since she last picked it up and I am hoping she will. I miss the times we used to sit and stitch together.

Oh my gosh, if that's not the cutest thing to see! Great photos! She's a smart little girl. I'm glad to see the younger generation being taught. Thanks for your nice comments in my blog, it's always nice to "meet" new people. As far as the top design, it's one that I made up for the challenge.

Oh, she's so adorable, Hazel and so very clever! My dd was trying to stitch when she was that age... lost interest very soon and sadly I cannot seem to spark her interest again! It would be so lovely to share the love of stitching with her... Perhaps one day... I'm not giving up! ;-)

I'm hoping your daughter's interest never wanes... :-)

What a fantastic little butterfly! It's going to look so cute when it's done, can't wait to see it!

What a clever girl and a talented stitcher, just like mummy :D

I'm going to go and check out that site now and maybe get one for my DD. She's had kids kits in the past but gets frustrated with them a bit. Maybe the pre-printed one's are the way to go for her.

Thanks for the link Hazel.

I am reading through your blog and just had to reply to this post. Your daughter looks the picture of concentration, now you will need to lock up your stash. My daughter is four, it might be time to teach her, but I don't want to share my stash LOL.
