The 40s

I can't believe I haven't blogged in over a month. So much has been happening and I have been super busy. This isn't going to be a long post but I will briefly update you with some of my goings on.

I turned 40 last week. Massive milestone. To celebrate I decided to go to a log cabin in a forest with a hot tub to chill and relax. The place was recommended by a friend and I was very happy when I arrived to find this beautiful little place all lit up for us on arrival.

The hot tub was ammmaaazzzzzing. It was great to sit back and relax with the forest surrounding and the sounds of birds twittering away. The kids loved it too. It was was peaceful and I would definitely return.
Whilst there, we took a little trip out to Filey along the East Coast. There were fields of rape all along this route and it was simply stunning.

I got some great gifts from dear stitchy friends. Here are a few.
Lesley bought me a LHN chart from my wishlist and included some of the threads to go with it. Thank you so much!!

Tracy also sent me a LHN chart from my wishlist which has been on there for a long time - The Bookshelf" and she made me a lovely framed picture as a gift along with some fabric that I had previously agreed to purchase from her!

Isn't it lovely! I have it on my bedside table. Thank you Tracy!

Another friend of mine made me a lovely frame.

Look at the amazing detail! So clever. Thank you dear Helen. x

But, one of my biggest birthday treats was to have a little trip to Nimble Thimble nr Oswestry. When I got there, Chris, the owner, asked me for my name which I thought was unusual. When I told her, she said, "Oh I have a surprise for you. Tina has gifted you with a £15 credit for the shop." Wowza! Thank you so much Tina. This was a huge surprise and a real nice one too. I did have a spend in the shop - well, I should say my husband did. This was his present to me. I got a few things that caught my eye:

The Victoria Sampler Heirloom Christmas.
I got this in the red and green colours. I have never done a Victoria Sampler one before. Looking forward to the challenge of it.

Drawn Thread Morning Glory.
Again, I have never done a Drawn Thread before and loved the colours in this one. Nimble Thimble will kit these up for you using the right amount of thread so there is no wastage.

After finishing my Mill Hill kit, I couldn't resist getting these two as well. I once again fell for the glittering gold and sparkle.

Blackbird Designs Abecedarian series
I have seen this series framed and on the wall and it looks fantastic so I think I want to collect this set. This is my first.

The Sweetheart Tree - Blackberry Heart.
Couldn't resist the sparkle!

On our way back, we went through a village called Ellesmere. It was stunning and there was this beautiful pub/ restaurant that we decided to stop off at and have my birthday lunch. It was fab. This was our view.

Grilled halloumi and cous cous salad.

Well that's me for a bit. I still have some stitchy and crochet updates to do but need to get better pictures. Till then,
