What an Idiot!

So here I am happily stitching away at my biscornu for the may monthly finishing challenge blog in a gorgeous colour of Needle Necessities thread. I have worked up the left side and then across the top and down the right side. Hmmm lovely isnt it:
biscornu

and then I spot this!!!!!!! Can you see the misplaced stitch at the top of the left row before it curls up. Out by one stitch!!!! So I now have some unpicking to do.
spot the mistake
It really spoke to me actually about mistakes that we often make in our lives and how sometimes we have to do some "unpicking" and starting again. We have a friend who is getting married soon - her 3rd marriage. We are having a little night of celebration for her and if we have a word of encouragement or a poem or something to give her then we can do it then. I am thinking of giving her this as a gift to help her remember that God is still weaving and embroidering her life even when she has made "mistakes" in the past.

Doh! I sent off two exchanges and completely forgot to take pictures of them. I'll have to wait till they have been rec'd then "borrow" the photos!!

And here's a couple of pics of Lily and Elijah at four and a half months old.

Just got "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory. I only read about one book a year but I am really enjoying this. I love tudor history.

Race is on to unpick and finish this biscornu so I'd better get on with it. Have a good stitching week. xx

Ah the joys of stitching. Frogging seems to be an essential ingredient. I am sure you will have a very lovely biscornu and great gift when finished.

Gorgeous floss colour...and try as I might, I can't see an error. Great thoughts on stitching mirroring life, very true!

I cannot see the misplaced stitch. Since you are the one working on it you will notice it...just like relationships, when you are in one you know the mistakes and when you are looking at someone else's, you are seeing it from a distance and don't see the problems. I wish your friend the best. I know how it feels to be married and have it fall apart.

I hope your stitching goes better. I don't care for pulling out stitches, but it happens to all of us.

Your children are so cute, such sweet faces!

Take care
Teresa

Lovely thread colour, I try to be philosophical about frogging too, I think maybe it's there to teach us patience and persistence :)

Good luck to your friend too!

Lovely photo of your children, so cute!

Oh what a shame. All that unpicking for ONE stitch. Isn't that thread just beautiful though.

That's a gorgeous photo of your kiddies :o)

Sorry the frog came to visit, but it is looking lovely. I looked but couldn't see where you were off. However, we are generally harder on our own work, and we do have the pattern in front of us to compare it to how it "should" look. Good luck to your friend, hopefully this time is the lucky one. Sometimes it does take some unpicking in our lives to get back on track, and also to appreciate what it is we do have. Wonderful pictures, they looks so cute together. I can't believe how fast Elijah's growing.

sorry that pesky frog came to visit you, although i can't see the misplaced stitch, I know it will bother the person who's stitching it.
How cute are you babies, love Elijah's big eyes. thanks for sharing your treasured pics

I can't see the misplaced stitch, I hate it when frogs visit. Your kids are so cute, great smiles. Sorry to hear of Poppys' passing, take care.

You have BEAUTIFUL children! :D

I also messed up like that when I made my first biscornu. I was so disgusted with myself that I started a new one, and kept the "off" one for myself.

I wish your friend a lot of happiness in her new marriage. We do make mistakes, but the 'happily ever after' is out there if we wait for and work for it.
