On my Hook...

My crochet hook has been non stop of late. My dear friend Tracy ordered a blanket for her Aunt and because she is coming to visit shortly, I thought I would try and get it done as quickly as possible so as I wouldn't have to "cram" it in at a later date. Here is the finished piece! I got rather taken with it. The colours and the order and the pretty border. I really love it. I hope Tracy does too.

Something else I started just last night and inspired by this one, is shown below. I love Chris' colours of beige and greys and creams but I do seem to have an inordinate amount of pastel pinks and purples and thought it would be just as well to use them up on a similar blanket. So this one may go to daughter, if I can bear to part with it. Because I am doing solid flowers with no colour changes, the flowers are crocheting up pretty quickly with only two strands to weave in. I am doing it randomly and joining as I go. It is a pleasure to work on and can't wait to get off here and make a few more to add to it. More progress pictures to come soon!
Flower blanket using the Japanese Flower pattern.

I also started a small pram blanket for my neighbour who has recently given birth to her 3rd baby boy! I am running out of navy though so a few more rows and a border and I think it will be done!

So you would think I would be all hooked out, wouldn't you? But I'm not! Just loving the hook at the moment. Thanks for popping by! I'll be back soon.

ETA: the japanese flower pattern can be found in this book by this wonderful etsy seller. Yes it was a bit of an expense  I bought 2! But she is very reliable. I thoroughly recommend. http://www.etsy.com/listing/82863690/motif-book-vol-4-japanese-crochet-book

Wow those hooks are flying Hazel. All of your blankets look great. I like that Japanese Flower pattern, very pretty with the ruffley flowers. I'm happy to see people crocheting again, it was out of fashion for so many years.

Hazel, your blankets are looking great! Lovely start on those flowers! That's what I want to try - are they hard? Here I ask and I have never even tried crochet!

Hazel,

Your crochet is just beautiful! I hope to be able to make flowers like that one day. I hope! They are so delicate looking. I want to try them perhaps when I get settled in my new home.
Thinking of you my sweet friend. Sorry I have not kept in touch lately..so much going on, as you know!
Love to you! Louise xx

Beautiful all! Love the blanket and I am sure she will too. The ripple baby blanket is adorable. But I especially love the flower scarf. I made one about a year ago in grey. I loved wearing it all winter long. Somehow it made winter that much more enjoyable to wrap up in it. Have fun with your flowers!
