I have been in much need of a snuggly crochet day and this morning it finally happened! I have been run off my feet what with the new job (even though it hasn't officially started yet!) and hubby away (he is back on FRIDAY oh joy!!!!) and kids and housework and projects and everything!!! So, after a not so very nice examination at the docs this morning I thought I would give myself some time out and look at what I collected from my boy's nursery that arrived today:
Cute and Easy Crochet by Nicki Trench
Oh yes, it's THAT book. I have been hankering after this book for simply ages and when I saw it for £4 at my son's nursery's book club, I just had to snap it up. So this morning, I have been dreamily browsing through some of the pages and eating a bit of this:
Here are some favourite projects that I would like to have a go at. There are so many of them. I would love to crochet them all!
As well as drooling all over my new book, I am also in a whirlwind about getting this blanket crocheted up for my friend Tracy who has asked me to do one for her Aunt. I love working on it. Each round is so relaxing to work and I love the colours. I have a sort of a pattern repeat going on - sort of. I am doing 3 colours then white, 3 colours then cream etc.. I am hoping that the white and cream will give it a calmer, more vintage feel.
And just for fun, here a pic of my two beans having their ice creams when I recently visited my mum's.
Happy times! At long last!!
Don't forget about the giveaway. I'm drawing a name tomorrow!

Oohhhh....that book has some great projects. Love the scarves and that bag! Cute pic of your little ones!
Little treats are good for the soul. I have a copy of that book and it's got some really nice designs in it.
What a great book!! The problem with new books it that we spend so much time dreaming about creating and not enough creating gets done, for me anyways :)
The pic of the kiddies is so fun! I'm so happy things are turning around for you! xxoo
I'm so glad your life seems to be looking up, Hazel--you sound very happy and satisfied :)
What a great book--can't wait to see what projects spring from it! Best of luck with the new job, too!
I think that the book has some wonderful projects in it! Your blanket is looking great!
The blanket is a beautiful colour combination, going to be well loved.
Great projects in the book, what a bargain.
(big hug)
Beautiful afghan Hazel. I am glad things are looking up a bit for you, and hoping it continues. Good luck on the new job!
Your blanket is lovely, the colours are gorgeous. I succumbed to that book when The Book People had it too, not that I can really crochet to speak of, but I keep meaning to try and learn
Your crochet looks great. Lovely projects you want to do. Love the picture of your children.
Looks like a great and inspiring book; just try not to dream too long about all the projects in it, but actually start one instead. The afghan looks beautiful. I think the cream and white really give it a beautiful, bit vintage look. Great job.
It's a great book isn't it? I have had mine a while but not got any further than dreaming about what I might make..lol
Every time I see your crochet projects it makes me tempted to try my hand at it again ... lol! In fact, I actually had a beginner's crochet kit in my hands the other day but talked myself into putting it back ... then I walked around the store holding a crochet magazine but put that back as well. I think I need professional help ... lol! I especially love that granny square tote bag & afghan!
