Chocolate Limes..

chocolatelimessweets

This is what my husband said when I finished Tracy's blanket for her.

Chocolate Limes?? I thought more of a mint choc chip ice cream.

Mmmmmm... are you feeling it??

This was a special order blanket from Tracy who chose the pattern and colours to go in her sitting room. I hope she likes it.

So chocolate limes or mint choc chip?? What do you think?

Speaking of orders, I have had another order for a flower cushion and what tricksy little beeps these are!! Here they are so far:

Aren't they just so pretty?? I love the streak of sunlight coming through the window and shining on them. Now they are in the process of being made into squares. They are from Rosehip's blog (link in the sidebar).

I stumbled upon something today that made me think. Has anyone seen or heard of 365 Grateful? A woman who suffered from depression was given advice from a nun that the secret of happiness was in reflection and gratefulness and challenged her to reflect and be grateful every night for the next ten days. She was so impressed by the results that she got herself a Polaroid camera and began to take a picture a day of something that made her feel grateful - every day for a year! It is so motivating and I have been thinking about a lot of stuff like this lately. I have had so much go on in my life the last few years that it is a miracle I am still here to tell the tale to be honest. Well, I am not ready to talk just yet but I am thinking a lot about this and getting very inspired. Definitely worth looking at.

So, what am I grateful for today? I am grateful that my husband finally ordered a skip and has cleared the garage! Just the office and garden to go now but I am very hopeful. This has been a long time coming. Thank you sweet man.

And, thank you everyone who has visited with me in my little space today. I appreciate all your lovely, kind and thoughtful comments. Keep well.

Lovely crochet work. Being appreciative of the small things in life does make a difference, I've tried it and it works. Take pleasure in something every day - you probably do it already but don't think about it.

The blanket is beautiful! I never would have thought chocolate lime...but only because I've never had such a confection! I'd have thought ice cream, given those two choices...but I actually just thought "BEAUTIFUL! I'd like to make one of those!" Your flowers are so pretty! I can't wait to see the finished project!

Slobbering all over my keyboard at the mint chocolate chip. ;) The blanket is gorgeous, too! And those flowers just kill me - they're so pretty!!

Never heard of chocolate limes before but mint chocolate chip ice cream? Yes please! My favorite flavor! lol I love the blanket. The crochet flowers are lovely! Thanks for the link to the 365Grateful blog. I will take a read through. Sounds like something I could use too...

I have never heard of chocolate limes, but oh that sounds heavenly!! I love chocolate alone....I love limes along...mix the two??? Heaven! Is there such a thing??? But...I have to say, the blanket reminds me of my favorite ice cream in the whole wide world......mint choc. chip!!!!!
I love your 'insight' about one thankful thing each night.....maybe that would help the mood I have been in lately!!

I was thinking mint and chip ice cream too.

Blanket is beautiful. How did you get the granny squares to lie flat? When I connect more than one there is always a bump where the connection is. Hope you understand what I mean.

Nice blanket! Fun colors! I think the ice cream makes more sense too. :D Nice flowers so far on the cushion too. Love the idea of the 365 thing.

Never heard of chocolate limes either but I love mint chocolate chip ice cream!! Yes, that would be my choice. Lovely blanket! Those flowers are beautiful, but I bet they are a bit of a pain to stitch up.

Life does present its challenges, sometimes more than others. Thinking of our blessings goes a long, long way to help keep us sane and reasonably happy. We all have so many more blessings than we realize.

Mm, chocolate limes, love them in a funny sort of way! Love the crocheting. Hugs, dear Hazel.

Well, the blanket certainly looks good enough to eat. As do the flowers! Gorgeous and delightful.

The 365 'challenge' (if I may call it that) is something I've been doing since about November (consciously, at least). It makes a world of difference, and I've never felt better and more comfortable with myself, even when life gets tough. Definitely give it a go, Hazel. You can do it!

I see pistachios, but then I'm awkward ;D
Gorgeous blanket, and I just adore the crocheted flowers

I know chocolate/mint only from sweets called 'Aftereights', but they have the dark chocolatecolor. So I don't know these colors. I think the one you made it for will be very happy with it. It's a lot of work and you have accomplished it very fast, didn't you?

You can follow Oprah in your 365-project. She writes down 5 things to be thankful for every day for years. It changed her life, she says, but I have never tried it. But it sounds very plausible.

Oh yes, the ice cream, for sure ;) It's very pretty, as are the flowers :)

Thank you for mentioning about 365 Grateful - I need to look into it, as it's something that I could really use too.

It would be pistacchio and chocolate icecream for me, lol. It's gorgeous, this blanket. And I'm so very curious to see the cushion you will make out of the lovely little flowers.

What a beautiful blanket! I don't know about the name, but it's 'eye candy' for sure.

Such a lovely new blanket, Hazel. It really does conjure up images of some tasty dessert!

Thanks for the link to the blog--it really is the simple things in life that make me the most grateful. They are all around us; all we need to do is open our eyes :)

Mint cornetto, that what comes to mind for me. It's wonderful and so are your little flowers too.

I did a post about a similar thing to the 365 some time ago. I had read an article in the hospital that you should end your day before sleep with one thing that had made you happy that day, and you would wake in a happy mood the next day. I tried it when i was in a very low time in my life and it worked very well, i needed this reminder and will start tonight by giving it a go again. xxxx

Love the mint chocolate chip blanket - it's beautiful! Thank you so much for the link to 365Grateful. I always try to express my gratitude on every post on my blog - for the little things and the not so little things. It truly changes your perspective.

Lovely blanket, definitely mint choc chip, although I do like chocolate limes. Love the flowers too.

Carol said...

I love chocolate limes but agree its more mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Beautiful flowers too.
Yes, sometimes we certainly do forget to be thankful for the good things. I'm thankful for the view I can see right now of our neighbour's and our garden (complete with little wild rabbit eating the grass - I bet he is thankful I rescued him from our cat yesterday!)

I see you are crocheting like mad and what beautiful results! I love mint chocolate chip ice cream (which we do not have here in Holland) so I will vote for that one. But with raspberries for the pink? Those flowers are amazing. I want to crochet but have to get my quilt blocks and newsletter ready for my quilt group next week. :-(

Hugs from Holland ~

WOW! Your work is perfect! I always wish I could knit or crochet to make my little babes adorable caps but I never seem to find the time to learn :) So I REALLY ADMIRE your beautiful work! Those little flowers are just perfect too!

Thanks for visiting the other day, what a sweet comment you left too :) I want to peek around your blog some more & see if I can see your little kiddos. Off to do that!
