I have finally made it back to blogland! I have been beavering away on exchanges and projects and have a few bits to show and tell. First up is my second pair of socks. I used Sirdar Click dk yarn for these. Just the same simple pattern. I can't bear anything too complicated when it comes to knitting.
Secondly, I finished my Tiny Treasures "L" Fairy for Lily my dd. This is stitched on 18count aida as recommended. It was such an easy stitch. Really big blocky pieces. My dd loves it and now I have to decide whether to get it framed or made into a cushion.
I have recently started my next HAED which is Breaking Dawn by CC Kuik:
I have had all my threads and fabric ready to go but I have this little rule that I will only ever have one HAED on the go at one time. Other wips - yes - haeds - no. Only one of those at a time. So I had to wait until I had finished the TT L fairy first.
I also finished the Christmas Ornie for the HOE Early Christmas Ornament exchange. Caroline has now recieved it and likes it :-).
Norweigan Reindeer by Scandinavian Stitches
From the Just Cross Stitch Ornament magazine 2008
Stitched on 32 count Belfast linen
Ribbon Red Crescent Colours thread
Tracy and I have decided to make a pledge that from 1st June, we will make no new starts for 5 months (December being given to ornies of course). That means we will work exclusively on wips with the aim of getting some of them completed. We are allowed to stash enhance but no new starts. Do you think we will be able to do it???? So here is a list of my wips that I will be eager to get finished:
Marie Rose sampler - could finish this
Mary Wigham - Needleprint
Breaking Dawn - CCKuik HAED
CdC - Ink Circles
Patchwork - Jan Houtman
Polar Santa (UFO)
La D Da ABC Sampler - could finish this
Snowfire Christmas - Just Nan - could finish this
Jane Austen sampler - The Sampler Girl - could finish this
A Most Noble Pursuit Collaboration sampler

Lovely finish on your HAED. You are very wise to only have one of these on the go at a time!
Great idea to have someone else help you stay on a "no new start" diet!
I hope it works and we can see some lovely finishes
Woohoo!!!! fab finish on the HAED, well done and gorgeous socks - love the colour of the wool. Nice ornie too
Good luck with the 'no new starts' i'm sure you'll both accomplish it. Looking forward to seeing progress on the WIP's
Great finish on the HAED. Good luck with your "no new starts", wish I had the will power to do that!
Nice socks, and I love your HAED finish! Bet your daughter will love it! Good luck with the no new start diet!
Wonderful to hear from you, Hazel, and to enjoy your many lovely finishes. :D The fairy you made for your daughter is absolutely beautiful!
Truly beautiful stitching, Hazel! I love the reindeer ornament and your finishing is superb!
You've been very busy, Hazel...all of your finishes are gorgeous. Especially love your little ornament for Caroline--so cute :)
Lovely finish on the HAED.
Your finish on the ornie is gorgeous!
Really enjoyed looking throug your blog. I hope to be back often and follow now.
Love the socks and the Letter L finish! I am sure Lily loves it! Good luck on your start diet...I look forward to seeing your wips updates now! :)
Beautiful finishes Hazel! (I wish I could knit, but there is something missing in my DNA - I just can't figure it out!!) I love the colour of the socks and your Letter L finish is GORGEOUS!! Squee!
Your new HAED start is lovely! I do like CCK's work. Looking forward to seeing your progress pics.
The L Fairy turned out lovely, congratulations on all of of the finishes. Looking forward to seeing progress pics of the new HAED. Enjoy your stitchy weekend.
That HAED is just gorgeous! No wonder your DD loves it! I would too if my first name stared with an L. Want to start a D for me?
You did a lovely job on that ornie as well.
I'm in the same club as you, not starting any new big projects. Well except for the wedding piece I'll be starting next week. I have vowed to work through my stitching basket, getting the projects in there finished.
I am itching to start a new Silver Lining but I won't... and I am thinking a start for my Dad but I'll hold off on that too.
Your finishes are lovely, I think the tiny treasures are so pretty. What a fun HAED you picked to do next. I've admired them for a long time but never actually done one. Good luck with your plan to finish the WIP's, you have a wonderful selection to work on.
Sue
Lovely finishes all the way around!
So happy to see you back. The L fairy is so cute. It's a nice finish. I don't have the heart for a HAED, but happy to see others stitch them. Great socks. I bet you can stick to no new starts - as long as you can stash - good idea. I just bought threads for a most noble pursuit but still need the linen. I would love to see your progress if you have a picture.
So how many stitching projects will you be starting between now and June 1st? ;) That was my first thought when you said no new starts between 6/1 and December. I can't see how you're going to do that!
Lovely finish for your daughter. I'm looking forward to seeing if you're going to frame or make it into a pillow. Either way, she is just going to love it!
Niiice socks!
LOVE those socks Hazel and your HAED finish is gorgeous! Those TT letters are wonderful to stitch. I must get another going one going!
Good luck on your no new starts pledge:)
Ooh, those HAED designs are just gorgeous. Perhaps I should do one as a treat-break from knitting? Maybe I'd best unearth all the UFO stitching projects first tho' ; )
Love the fairy : )
Those socks look lovely & warm. WTG on the TT finish too - beautiful! Like the new HAED design - look forward to watching it develop. Good Luck with the pledge & getting those WIP finished. Have a great visit with Tracy. :0)
