Christmas in July

Yesterday I decided to pull out a UFO that I have not worked on for a year, maybe even two. It is quite shameful really as I only have a corner to do, plus a whack load of french nots which run all over the design. It is Polar Santa and is now a discontinued chart I think but not sure. Jayne's Attic runs a UFO night every Tuesday night so I decided to join in. Plus it is one of my July goals to join in so I have accomplished another goal yay! Here are my before and after pics:

before ufo night 15th july 08

after ufo night

It feels strange working on aida again after so long on linen, but it makes for a nice easy project, even on that navy! Hopefully I will get this one finished in time for Christmas.

Thanks for looking and for all your postive comments re the parking ticket. It looks like we are going to have to pay the £100. Like we really need that right now! :-(

  3. The Santa is so pretty. I do a project on Aida sometimes just to give my eyes a rest. If you didn't want to do all the french knots you could always use beads. I usually do the colonial knot instead because I think it is a fun one to do. Your Elijah is a cutie.

  4. The french knots would have stopped me from even starting this piece. You'll have this done in no time for Christmas. This makes me wonder what is in my UFO pile...to much to even think about. LOL

  22. Polar Santa is so pretty, good luck on finishing it up. It will be a lovely UFO to be able to count as a finish, and you'll be able to show it off this coming Christmas. How frustrating on the parking ticket. Hopefully it gets resolved soon, and maybe someone will make the carpark quit acting that way.

    I'm having flashbacks...lol.

I stitched this one for my aunt and it took me a couple of years because I got so frustrated with it....lol.

It looked great when finished, though.
