Yesterday I decided to pull out a UFO that I have not worked on for a year, maybe even two. It is quite shameful really as I only have a corner to do, plus a whack load of french nots which run all over the design. It is Polar Santa and is now a discontinued chart I think but not sure. Jayne's Attic runs a UFO night every Tuesday night so I decided to join in. Plus it is one of my July goals to join in so I have accomplished another goal yay! Here are my before and after pics:

It feels strange working on aida again after so long on linen, but it makes for a nice easy project, even on that navy! Hopefully I will get this one finished in time for Christmas.
Thanks for looking and for all your postive comments re the parking ticket. It looks like we are going to have to pay the £100. Like we really need that right now! :-(
xx
The Polar Santa looks great you have put a lot of work in already... It'll look lovely for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting some of your UFO done,I totally forgot so will have to hide from Mr Stick!!
ReplyDeleteThe Santa is so pretty. I do a project on Aida sometimes just to give my eyes a rest. If you didn't want to do all the french knots you could always use beads. I usually do the colonial knot instead because I think it is a fun one to do. Your Elijah is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThe french knots would have stopped me from even starting this piece. You'll have this done in no time for Christmas. This makes me wonder what is in my UFO pile...to much to even think about. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely piece that is. I am sure you will finish it in no time. I use beads instead of French knots when they are loads of them. I don't even want to think about my UFO pile GROAN!
ReplyDeleteYou are so close to being done on this Santa! But I hate doing French knots too. The latest pictures of Elijah are adorable - he has grown so much :0D
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous WIP!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about that darn ticket!

ReplyDeleteHazel, this piece is lovely. Good for you to go back and finish it! Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like you have too much left to do. You'll get it finished in no time.
ReplyDeleteHi Hazel, I'm so sorry about your parking ticket woes! What a mess. I hope it all works out. :( Your pics of Elijah are so sweet, he is a beautiful baby.

p.s. "a whack load" is going to be my new favorite phrase!
Love the Polar Santa. Looks like you are getting close to having a finish. Yes, I am sure that going back to aida does seem strange. Have not done any in a long time.
ReplyDeleteYour Polar Santas looks fantastic Hazel! You've done so much already and with the help of Julie and Mr Stick you'll soon have it finished:)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got a lot done! It's a great project.
ReplyDeletePolar Santa is so pretty, good luck on finishing it up. It will be a lovely UFO to be able to count as a finish, and you'll be able to show it off this coming Christmas. How frustrating on the parking ticket. Hopefully it gets resolved soon, and maybe someone will make the carpark quit acting that way.
ReplyDeleteSue
I'm having flashbacks...lol.
ReplyDeleteI stitched this one for my aunt and it took me a couple of years because I got so frustrated with it....lol.
It looked great when finished, though.
