I am heartbroken. There is no other word for it. Today, I had to put my beloved Ragdoll cat down. She was only 5 years of age. She had gradually stopped eating and after blood tests were done it was discovered she had kidney disease. I have spend the last day, holding her in my arms and watching her life slowly ebb away. It has been the hardest couple of days in my life. She was like a family member and I loved her so much. She was the most beautiful thing with beautiful, soft fur and the bluest eyes. She was gentle natured and never did anything nasty. I am so very sad today.

ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Misty; she looked like a beautiful cat and you obviously loved her very much. A friend of mine has a rag doll cat who they think might also have kidney disease - I wonder if it's something that they are prone to? She was a very lucky cat to have been so treasured. To quote from 'Shadowlands': "The pain now is part of the happiness then. That's the deal." x

Very sad.... a vet once told me that as an owner the ultimate love you can give to a pet is to end their suffering and send them home with love. {hugs} x

My dog B.J. just passed away last Friday, and although he was almost sixteen years old and I knew it would happen eventually, I am heartbroken to lose a beloved member of my family. I'm still bursting into tears multiples times a day. If you want to swap sweet/cute/hilarious pet stories and bittersweet feelings, let me know! I've found that to be the best thing for me these past few days. <3

ReplyDeleteI was so sad to read this post Hazel. I lost my own beloved cat four years ago, having had her for nineteen years. It was a massive wrench and I still miss her now. Our furry friends are as much our family as the people in it. God bless you. Lil xx
