A Most Noble Pursuit

Finally, I have completed the first block on A Most Noble Pursuit. This has been a project I was sooo excited about and initially made a good start only to put it in the bag and promptly forget about it for over a year!! I have no idea why as it is a dream to stitch. It is worked on 36 count Vintage Light Exempler by Lakeside Linen and uses NPI silks 1 x 2 which are also heavenly to work with.

1st block complete Feb 11

So it is a little TaDa moment. One down only nine more to go!

I have been very good and sticking to the Wednesday SAL for The Sampler Girl SAL over on NH forum and here is my progress on Pride and Prejudice sampler so far. I apologise for the bad lighting - the weather has been particularly awful here over the last few days with plenty of flood warnings.

Oooooh and finally my LL fabric arrived for me to make a start on Shores of Hawk Run Hollow. I luuuurve this fabric so much and hope it is as much fun to stitch on. It is the called for 40ct Vintage Autumn Gold.

And just for a bit of fun, here's my ds with a huge lollipop! It's good to put a bit of colour in your life.

  21. Congratulations on Noble Pursuit! It looks beautiful. I stitched the lady by the stream square by CHS. I was too impatient to stitch them all together! :) I need some encouragement to finish up my P&P. I love it, but put it away because of a counting error.

Lovely progress on your TSG piece.

Wow that's a huge lollipop. I can't believe how big your DS has grown. Hardly seems like 5 mins since he was a baby.

  27. Congrats on finishing your first block on Most Noble Pursuit. I've had this in my stash since it came out (all kitted up with linen and threads), but never hear it calling to me. I like all the blocks except the one with lady in the big pink dress. If I ever stitch this piece I'll definitely change the color of that dress.

  28. Indeed, you have done a beautiful job of stitching the first block of "A Most Noble Pursuit"! Sometimes, putting a project away for a while, and taking it out later, gives new enthusiasm to stitching it!

  29. It's fabulous!
I'm trying to teach myself cross stitch but I'm sticking to simple designs. It will be a long time until I am up to doing something like yours.

  30. I started Noble Pursuit back in 2009? I intended to finish one block a month..ha! That 1st one took me forever with all that blue fill and then block #2 has a lot of over 1 and into the ufo pile it went. I do want to bring it out. If I could drag Miss Potter to the finish line I should be able to make some head way on Noble Pursuit too. Seeing your progress can spur me on!

  40. Hi Hazel
Thanks for your comment. It was rather dull when I was stitching so I am hoping that was why I got such a bad headache.
I have enjoyed seeing your recent beautiful stitching projects. I especially like stitching houses/buildings etc.
Cute picture of your son with the lollipop. It's bigger than he is!
